"LET THOSE WHO RIDE DECIDE"

Is there any good news? Any bad news? Anything I could be doing better (besides spelling) I feel as if I'm just spinning my wheels waiting for HB0081 to pass the senate. George Bagby called me the other day to tell me that we were close. but we can’t pat our selves on the back yet, it isn't over till the fat lady sings, don't count your chickens till they hatch, keep fighting the good fight. ok that’s not exactly what he said, but it was something like that. so far there has been only one nay vote as far as I can tell.

I am going to contact Rep. Jerry Iekel mailto:jiekel@house.wyoming.com and ask him why he thinks it's ok to discriminate against the handicapped motorcyclist of Wyoming. See what I can do to educate him. I would like ya’ll to do the same. I am also sending out thank you e-mails to Senators Barrasso, Geis, Hastert, Johnson and Von Flatern, as they all voted aye, placing our bill on general file. Now would be the time to call, e-mail, maybe even visit our Senators.

I saw the outcome in the wrongful death suit for Dwayne Sells. bummer news there. His death/murder should never be forgotten.

I have contacted Mark Buckner from the MRF, trying to get some handouts and materials to put on his "Holding Successful Meetings" seminar for the new officers of W.C.A. I've been through his seminar about 3 times and I hope I remember enough to teach our new officers what they need to know. I think just the idea has inspired our new president. Our last meeting was short and sweet to the point, and only about 30 min. long, so I was told. I was 30 min late.

Well I think I got my facts straight, and covered about everything. Let me know what’s going on. I will try to do the same.

Together we are strong.

Representative Iekel,

I noticed that you voted nay against HB0081 Handicapped Motorcycle License plates. Why? Do you not believe that handicapped motorcyclist should have the same rights as other Wyoming citizens? Why would you try to vote down a bill that would end discrimination, ease tension during traffic stops, and allow handicapped motorcyclist of Wyoming the use of handicapped parking spaces? Are you not aware of the handicapped motorcyclist here in Wyoming? There are many different classifications of handicapped. I ride motorcycles with men that are missing hands and legs, but ride a motorcycle very well with the use of prosthesis. I ride with others that require the assistance of a cane to walk, yet they are able to ride a motorcycle as well if not better than most the riders I know. I eagerly await your reply.

Sincerely yours,

Russ Reddick
