Legislative Report: Russ called Senator Bagbi to find out if the Handi-Cap license plate issue has been brought up in the legislature. Russ is putting together a packet so he can present it to Senator Bagbi for all the other Legislators. If anyone has a picture of a Handi-Caped rider or a picture of another states Handi-Caped license plate for motorcycles, Russ Reddick would appreciate your help. The City Council has tabled the noise ordinance for now, but we need to do our part now. Big Jim Siri has contacted the School District to see if he could speak to the kids and do a seminar to inform them about motorcycles are out here. In the booklet for drivers to study to get your license there is only 2 paragraphs for motorcycles, he would like to contact the legislature to get some more education in the booklet for vehicle drivers. Jim & Russ also thought about bumper stickers “Pipe Down in Town” to hand out to the kids. Russ wanted everyone to know if you are interested in the Meeting of the Minds please go on the MRF website and listen to some of the seminars. Events Report: The Toy Parade had approximately 175 riders that signed in, but as you know there are a lot of us that don’t sign in we do show up. So for those that didn’t sign in Thank You for being there for the Children. Now this brings us to the Poker Run after the Parade, there were about eight people total. So Mileage would like to know if the members want or don’t want these Poker Runs. Mileage’s phone number is in the front of the news letter let him know, we have more non members doing our Poker Runs then our Members. It was suggested to do a sign up sheet in the News Letter for the Awareness Parade to see if anyone is interested. You as Members need to let him know if you would like this or not. Mike’s problem is that there is no membership participation or any volunteers to help. The Poker Run that was held after the Toy Parade there was 3 or 4 Members only the rest were riders that thought it would be fun. Mike asked if it would work better if we did the Parade a week earlier due to it falling on opening weekend for Hunting Season, we thought it might be worth a shot so we will see what happens. Christmas Party: We will have the Party at 3:00 pm on December 6th this year and there will be a meeting at 1:00pm the same afternoon to bring in the New Officers. Big Jim donated a Christmas Tree for us this year; we need volunteers to help decorate. The Christmas Committee so far is: Diane, Jimbo, Pac-Man, Jack Mailman, Russ and Badger, if there is anyone else please contact an Officer. Reminder: Nominations for officers are now over it is time to vote Please fill out the Ballot enclosed and mail it back or bring it to the November Meeting so all can be counted. If you are in the High Mileage contest please remember to have your ending Mileage into Jimbo or Pac-Man by December 1st or you will not have it counted for this year. New Business: Jack Brumgaurdt made a motion to give Mileage $250.00 from the Down Riders Fund 2nd by Mailman and passed. We need to know if there are any Electricians or Carpenters in our membership that is willing to donate some time to work on our trailer, please let us know.
